‘Wobbly’ truck stopped with driver six times over alcohol limit in Murcia, Spain

An irregularly driven truck was stopped in the Murcia City area and the driver was six times over the alcohol limit.

The truck bound for Elche began its journey 30 kilometers away in Librilla, zigzagging between lanes of the A-30 highway.

The drunk driver swerved from an exit into a bank and damaged traffic signs.

However, he continued on the N-301 towards Molina de Segura followed by an off-duty civil guard in his own vehicle.

He stayed right behind and used his hazard lights to warn motorists of the danger.

The agent transmitted what was happening through his hands-free telephone to the Murcia Traffic Operations Center, which deployed Guard reinforcements in the area.

They managed to get the truck to take an exit road to an industrial estate, where it stopped.

The driver reeked of alcohol and a breath test confirmed he was six times over the limit for a professional driver.

His vehicle was removed by another driver, while the offender was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
