Unlike the widow’s pension, “the parenting pension is paid out of the survivor’s insurance,” writes the German pension insurance. Alimony received in the last year before death must amount to at least 25 percent of the standard social welfare requirement applicable in the place of residence.

How much is the education pension for survivors?

In addition to the death of the ex-spouse, other conditions must also be met to receive child support. The surviving dependent must have contributed to the compulsory pension insurance for five years. Also, the deceased spouse must not have remarried after the divorce. The couple must also have been divorced after June 30, 1977. In addition, child-rearing allowance can only be used until the child turns 18. Like the regular old-age pension, the parenting pension must also be applied for at the pension insurance agency. Child-rearing allowance can be drawn from previous common-law partners if the registered partnership has been annulled by a court. Anyone who receives additional income in addition to the child-rearing allowance must allow 40 percent of it to be offset by the allowance above the exemption amount. An exception to this is the time of the death room. The amount of the parenting pension corresponds to the pension for the total reduction of work capacity. Before reaching age 65, it is reduced by a deduction.
