SPAIN Meteorological Office. AEMET has raised the severe weather warning to Orange for parts of the province of Malaga.

The orange weather alert, a warning against extreme bad weather, came into force yesterday Tuesday due to torrential rains and hurricane-force winds, in the area of ​​the Costa del Sol and the Guadalhorce Valley, and remained active until 9:00 p.m. tomorrow this Wednesday February 8th. .

Yesterday’s downpour threw 91 liters per square meter in 12 hours in the municipality of Cártama and 59 liters per square meter in 12 hours in the municipality of Ojén.

Cloudy skies with showers are expected to continue throughout today, with persistent torrential rain accompanied by thunderstorms in parts of the province.

The snow level will increase from 1,400 to 1,600 meters above sea level and hurricane-force winds will blow from the east.

As for the temperatures for the next few days, the maximum will range between 17ºC in Vélez-Málaga and 16ºC in the capital of Malaga, up to 11ºC in Ronda, with minimums of 5ºC and 6ºC in Antequera and Ronda respectively.

The minimum temperatures will not drop below 10-11ºC along the Costa del Sol.

As the week progresses, instability will continue to reign in the province, with a yellow alert for tomorrow Thursday due to coastal phenomena on the Costa del Sol due to winds with a component close to the east of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour, and 4 one-meter waves Tall.

The alert will be in effect from 6:00 am to 11:59 pm, tomorrow, February 9.

On Friday the weather will begin to improve and clear sunny skies are expected through the weekend.
