Illegal weapons factory shut down with 79 weapons seized in the Alicante area of ​​Spain

An illegal arms manufacturer has been closed by the Civil Guard in the province of Alicante.

The agents raided a workshop in Hondón de las Nieves and seized 79 weapons hidden in homes in Hondón, Crevillente and Pinoso.

Three men – between 43 and 65 years old – have been arrested, including the operator of the clandestine factory.

The gunmaker used his experience as a turner to make complete handcrafted firearms, as well as the individual parts for them.

He also modified weapons that had been decommissioned to bring them back to a usable state.

The craftsman had specialized industrial machinery in his workshop.

In addition to the weapons, the Civil Guard operation recovered 2,586 bullets as well as four silencers and a crossbow.

The seized weapons have been sent to the Valencia Crime Laboratory for analysis, to see if any of them had been used in crimes.

The three men have been accused of manufacturing weapons and their essential parts; the illegal possession of weapons; firearms trafficking; and ammunition storage.
