Four members of a gang of house robbers in Torrevieja have been arrested by the National Police.

The men – between 30 and 45 years old – were caught red-handed leaving a house that they had looted.

The robbers did not give up easily as they attacked the officers before they were apprehended.

The jewelry and money that had just been stolen were returned to their rightful owner.

Police described home burglaries as the gang’s “way of life.”

Investigations began in mid-November after the group became prime suspects in a series of raids on squatted property.

The gang operated in a coordinated manner with specific tasks for each man, including breaking into doors and security measures to avoid being identified as the culprits.

The Police have confirmed two robberies committed by the criminals, other incidents are being investigated and the possibility of other people helping them.

In addition to the robbery charges, Georgian citizens have also been charged with assaulting police officers and living in Spain illegally.
