WINTER is making its presence felt this week across Andalusia as temperatures plummet and icy winds wreak havoc.

The arrival of an arctic air mass is causing hurricane winds of up to 90 kilometers per hour to hit southern Spain and cause a sharp drop of 6ºC in minimum temperatures throughout the region.

Minimum temperatures of 3.7ºC are expected in Seville and temperatures below zero in the city of Granadawith up to four centimeters of snow forecast in the interior of Granada and Jaén, especially in the Sierra de Cazorla.

According to the AEMET meteorological agency, the maximum temperatures will begin to recover on Friday, although the cold will remain intense until the beginning of next week.
