BOSSES accused of squandering ‘thousands of euros’ at a bus station have taken action after the olive press told him.
Users of the Marbella bus station noticed that the exterior roof lights were turned on during the day, as well as the toilet cisterns that were running continuously.
The general state of disrepair, including pipe leaks, was reported to Avanza, after the drivers and cleaning staff agreed with us.
It came after an Olive Press reader contacted us about the lights coming on at 2pm “which are hard to see because of the bright daylight.”
“It’s a complete waste of money, particularly since I’ve seen them on many occasions like this,” said the reader, who asked to remain anonymous.

Avanza promised to check the sensors and now the lights come on at 5:30 pm, an appropriate time for winter.
The company also agreed to review the leaks in the toilets, which a spokesperson attributed to ‘misuse by some users’.
The move could save Avanza “around €1,368 a year” in unnecessary bills for electricity alone, says power company boss Martin Tye.
“It is criminal for any organization to waste electricity due to mismanagement and laziness,” said the CEO of Mariposa Energy. the olive press.
Last year Seville and several other Andalusian cities delayed the date of turning on the Christmas lights until December 5 with the explicit intention of reducing electricity consumption and raising awareness about energy savings.
Arriving during a period of power shortages and fears of winter blackouts amid sanctions on Russian oil and gas due to the war in Ukraine, it has sparked predictable outrage.
An Avanza Group spokesperson denied that costs are passed on to the consumer for station maintenance and out-of-control bills.
The lights are controlled by a sensor and on cloudy or gloomy days they turn on automatically, according to the company.
