The Robert Koch Institute records significantly fewer new corona infections in one day. The seven-day incidence is also falling.

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) put the seven-day incidence nationwide at 71.7 today. This arises from the figures that reflect the state of the RKI board at 5:45 am

The day before he had the value of crown– New infections per 100,000 inhabitants and week were 72.6 (previous week: 104.1; previous month: 250.7). However, this information only provides a very incomplete picture of the number of infections. Experts have been assuming for some time that there will be a large number of cases not registered by the RKI, mainly because not all infected people take a PCR test. Only positive PCR tests count in the statistics. In addition, late registrations or transmission problems can lead to distortion of the individual daily values.

The German health authorities recently reported to the RKI 8,866 new corona infections (previous week: 10,609) and 118 deceased (previous week: 150) within one day. Here, too, comparisons of the data are only possible to a limited extent due to test behavior, late registrations or transmission problems. In general, the number of newly registered infections and deaths varies significantly from one weekday to the next, as many federal states do not report them to the RKI, especially on weekends, and report their cases later in the week.

The RKI has counted 37,668,384 infections detected with Sars-CoV-2 since the beginning of the pandemic. The actual total number is likely to be significantly higher, as many infections go undetected.
