A PROJECT has gone on sale for what is claimed to be the first zero carbon luxury home to use a hydrogen generation system in Spain.
The running costs of the eco house are expected to be 90% cheaper than similar new builds.

The villa will run on 100% carbon-free power supplied by a ‘home hydrogen power system’, developed by the British company I think International.
Solar panels will produce hydrogen from water that will power a generator to provide electricity.
The only emissions from the system are oxygen and water which can be redirected to the property’s garden.

Meanwhile, the fully insulated walls will provide maximum energy efficiency and temperature regulation for the property in La Cala de Mijas.
On-site power supply will significantly reduce overall running costs, with excess solar energy stored to ensure the house is fully self-powered throughout the year.
The project at Calanova golf has been designed by the Marbella-based Architectural Design Team and will use other renewable technologies, including underfloor heating.
It will also feature a Tesla battery charging station.
It is sold for 2.5 million euros through mediterranean houses and will be completed within 12 months of the sale of the project.
