BENIDORM exceeded two million hotel reservations last year, according to the Hosbec city hoteliers association.
The Hosbec Monitor report for 2022 says that reserves fell 5.7% from 2019 levels.
The station dominated the Valencian Community, concentrating 23.1% of the reservations in the region, with 48.7% of those coming from abroad.
Travelers from the UK dominated international visitors with 75% and took 36.8% of the overall Benidorm total.
The Hosbec survey showed a 13.7% drop in overnight stays to just under 10 million, as people cut the length of their holiday.
39,000 hotel beds were available per night at 114 Hosbec affiliated establishments.
The average price of a night in a hotel in Benidorm was €88.40 compared to the national median of €104.70.
The city was also the fifth with the most overnight stays, surpassed by Barcelona, Madrid, San Bartolomé de Tirajana and Adeje.
Despite the impact of the pandemic and fears about attracting hotel staff, Hosbec said 5,437 people were directly employed by local hotels, down 3.4% from 2019.
