A woman shot and killed her terminally ill husband at Advent Health Hospital in Daytona Beach, Florida.

It has been revealed that the ‘active shooter’ at Advent Health Hospital on Saturday the 21st was, in fact, the wife of a terminal patient. According to local officials and witnesses, the woman shot and killed her husband shortly before 12 noon.

The woman reportedly spent several hours locked in her husband’s room after killing him, but eventually turned herself in to police officers. When questioned by the police, the woman informed them that she and her husband had planned for her to kill him.

In a statement, police confirmed: “Units arrived on scene to find that a woman had shot her terminally ill husband and confined herself to their bedroom.” The couple were named as Ellen Gilland, 76, and her late husband, Jerry Gilland, 77, as reported by bnonoticias.com.
