A man fell to his death from a roof in Alaquas after being chased by police who wanted to arrest him for domestic violence.
The incident occurred Tuesday night when the National Police responded to a call from a woman saying a phone had been thrown at her after an argument.
The agents found the victim on the street in shock and she told them what happened.
They went up to his apartment and were greeted by a friend of the suspect who told them that he had escaped through the balcony.
Police chased him across the roof as the man jumped between balcony terraces, but had to stop when they came across a metal fence that was too dangerous to jump over.
A few moments later, officers heard a thud as the 44-year-old man fell into a hole, falling five stories into the street.
They tried to revive him until an ambulance arrived, but paramedics were only able to certify his death around 11:30 p.m.
The deceased Spaniard had a police record that included complaints of ill-treatment, although it has not been specified whether it was the same victim.
