Two young men wanted to cross the tracks at the Eching station (Freising district). A 16-year-old boy was seriously injured.
Eching: A young man was struck by a train at Eching railway station, sustaining serious foot injuries. The 16-year-old from Bruck (Ebersberg district) crossed the tracks with a 17-year-old friend on Friday evening, as the federal police announced on Sunday. They apparently did not notice the approaching train.
While trying to get on the platform in time, the 16-year-old was struck by the Nuremberg-Munich regional express. His companion was unharmed. A federal police officer who was on his way to work took over first aid. The teenager was taken to the hospital with serious foot injuries and underwent emergency surgery that same night.

Eching: young people want to cross the tracks, not noticing the oncoming train
The train driver, who was later determined, told police that he saw the youths cross the tracks but did not feel a collision, as federal police said. That is why he drove to the central station in Munich and did not make an emergency stop.
For the 16-year-old, the accident has several consequences: a so-called grinder, a mill for grinding plant material, was found on the injured person. Therefore, blood must be drawn from the 16-year-old on suspicion of violating the Narcotics Law. Both young people are also being investigated for a dangerous intervention in rail traffic.
